The appearance of long bones in infants as a result of maternal rubella infection. The architecture of the metaphysis and adjacent diaphysis is disorganized. This produces a characteristic pattern of alternating dense and lucent longitudinal striations. Similar changes have been described in cytomegalic inclusion disease.

Image d'anomalies osseuses rencontrée chez le nouveau-né infecté par le virus de la rubéole au cours de la grossesse, consistant en de larges bandes claires métaphysaires, à limites irrégulières du côté de la diaphyse dont la minéralisation est normale et le modelage insuffisant. Ces bandes claires ne sont pas spécifiques et se retrouvent en période néo-natale dans la syphilis congénitale, l'érythroblastose fœtale, la maladie des inclusions cytomégaliques.
