Viscose. Traitement de la cellulose : À de la cellulose (pâte de bois, linters), on ajoute de la soude, on obtient de l'alcali-cellulose. Transformation en viscose : On traite l'alcali-cellulose broyée et mûrie avec du sulfure de carbone. Le produit obtenu, le xanthate de cellulose, est transformé en solution filable par de la soude. On obtient la viscose qui est elle-même mûrie afin d'améliorer ses qualités filables.
