It has been rigorously demonstrated that the resistance of silver nanowire electrodes has been reduced by 90% after chemical sintering at room temperature due to the joining of silver nanowires at junction areas.

Pour casser [la] coquille et provoquer l'assemblage des nanoparticules, il faut procéder à un frittage thermique en chauffant le circuit électrique à 150 °C pendant plusieurs heures. Un processus long, et qui limite grandement les supports d'impression. Mais il existe désormais une encre à nanoparticules d'argent dont la conductivité s'active grâce à un frittage chimique. Les nanoparticules sont diluées dans un solvant, une émulsion faite de latex polymère et d'halogénures. La conductivité apparaît en quelques secondes dès que l'encre commence à sécher et que le solvant s'évapore.
