Discontinuité physique matérialisant une rupture transversale de l'ouvrage. La fissure est plutôt perpendiculaire par rapport à l'axe longitudinal de l'ouvrage. Elle peut affecter une ou plusieurs parties voire la totalité le l'ouvrage (elle est alors annulaire). Les fissures circulaires sont souvent causées par un manque d'uniformité de l'assise de la conduite.
