Convinced that the appalling situation faced by many child soldiers should no longer be tolerated by the international community, leading non-governmental organisations (NGOs) - the African Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers, Amnesty International, Defence for Children International, Human Rights Watch, International Federation Terre des Hommes, the International Save the Children Alliance, the Jesuit Refugee Service, the Latin American Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers, the Quaker UN Office (Geneva) and World Vision International - are heading the Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers.
