Autoimmune haemolytic anemias. (...) Cold-reactive autoantibodies are often present in higher titres than the warm-reactive autoantibodies. The antibodies are primarily IgM and fix complement strongly. In most cases they are specific for the Ii blood group system.

La majorité des autoanticorps froids de classe IgM reconnaissent l'antigène public I. (...) Les autoanticorps anti-I de classe IgM ne se fixent sur les hématies qu'à basse température (4 ° C) et non à la température du corps. Cette particularité n'est pas liée à une modification de l'autoanticorps IgM par la température mais aux propriétés particulières de la membrane érythrocytaire au froid comme le démontre la réactivité identique de l'anticorps à 0 ° C et à 37 ° C avec l'antigène I purifié.
