Appropriation-dependent Crown corporations will be funded as if the wages of their employees were frozen. Commercial Crown corporations will be asked to keep their wage compensation in line with this policy. These measures will generate savings from the wage bill amounting to $50 million in 1994-95, rising to about $940 million by 1996-97.
