Annex I Parties may also acquire, from other Annex I Parties, CERs [certified emission reductions] from CDM [clean development mechanism] projects, ERUs [emission reduction units] from joint implementation projects, or RMUs [removal units] from sink activities. To answer concerns that some Parties could "oversell" and then be unable to meet their own targets, each Annex I Party is required to hold a minimum level of credits at all times. This is known as the commitment period reserve. It is calculated as 90 per cent of the Party's assigned amount, or as the amount of emissions reported in its most recent emissions inventory (multiplied by five, for the five years of the commitment period), whichever figure is lower. 2, record 1, English, - commitment%20period%20reserve

2, record 1, French, - r%C3%A9serve%20pour%20la%20p%C3%A9riode%20d%27engagement
