Canada Investment and Savings was established in August 1995 as a Special Operating Agency in the Department of Finance. Its mandate is to revitalize the federal government's retail debt program- the sales of government securities such as Savings Bonds, Treasury Bills and marketable bonds. Placements Épargne Canada a été mis sur pied en août 1995 à titre d'organisme de service spécial au ministère des Finances. Son mandat consiste à revitaliser le programme de placement de titres au détail du gouvernement fédéral- c'est-à-dire les ventes de titres du gouvernement comme les obligations d'épargne, les bons du Trésor et les obligations négociables.
