Les déchets radioactifs sont caractérisés par : la nature des radioéléments qu'ils contiennent : mode de désintégration a [alpha] ou ß, rayons y [gamma] émis, période; la quantité de ces radioéléments exprimée par leur activité en becquerels par unité de masse dite activité massique.

OBS

La «décroissance» se rapporte à la diminution d'activité dans le temps d'une substance radioactive qui fait suite à la désintégration. Le terme «mode» ici ne peut, selon nous, que se rapporter au phénomène déclencheur, soit la désintégration.
