Banding (of fertilizers). The placing of fertilizers in the soil in continuous narrow bands or ribbons, generally at specific distances from the plants or seeds.

L'épandage des engrais [...] se fait au moyen de distributeurs et d'engrais, soit en plein ou à la volée [...] soit en bandes (localisation de la fumure sur des bandes parallèles aux lignes de semis ou de plantation). L'épandage en bandes peut être fait à proximité des lignes ou au milieu de l'interligne, en profondeur (cas des localisations profondes d'azote sur le maïs ou de la fumure phosphopotassique sur la vigne et dans les vergers). Si on emploie cette dernière méthode, on ne fertilise chaque année qu'un interligne sur deux.
