DEFLOCCULATION [3 records]

Record 1 2004-03-09

English

Subject field(s)
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Clothes Cleaning and Dyeing Services
DEF

A form of aggregation in which hydrophobic colloidal sols are stabilized by addition of electrolytes, which provide the necessary electric double layer of ionic charges around each particle. Such electrolytes are known as peptizing agents.

OBS

peptization: term standardized by ISO.

Key term(s)
  • peptisation

French

Domaine(s)
  • Génie chimique
  • Teinturerie
CONT

Record 2 2003-09-09

English

Subject field(s)
  • Mineral Processing (Metallurgy)
DEF

Converting into very fine flakes.

DEF

The dispersion of solids that have come together in drilling fluid. It is accomplished by means of chemical thinners.

OBS

In the case of a suspension that has been flocculated, deflocculation can be accomplished by the addition of chemical agents or simply by agitation.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Minéralurgie (Métallurgie)
DEF

Record 3 2003-09-08

English

Subject field(s)
  • Types of Concrete
CONT

Deflocculation is achieved by using organic products (condensates of formaldehyde and sulphonate melamine or of formaldehyde and naphthalene sulphonate).

French

Domaine(s)
  • Sortes de béton
CONT

Spanish

Campo(s) temático(s)
  • Tipos de hormigón
