Des autres formes d'adaptation à la sécheresse, la plus curieuse est peut-être celle des plantes «reviviscentes» : ces plantes se déshydratent presque complètement (comme le font aussi certains animaux inférieurs) et se recroquevillent sur elles-mêmes, pendant la saison sèche, pour reverdir et s'épanouir aux premières pluies.
