Record 1 2007-01-19

English

Subject field(s)
  • Gemmology
  • Diamond Industry
DEF

Any of several adhesives used to hold diamonds during bruting, cleaving, sawing, and polishing. (Cements differ according to their use.)

OBS

The recipe varies but it must achieve a firm consistency that will hold the diamond in position in the dop; if the cement is too soft, the heat will cause the diamond to boil out of the dop.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Gemmologie
  • Industrie diamantaire
DEF
