En nutrition clinique, la diététiste-nutritionniste a comme responsabilité première d’évaluer l’état nutritionnel des personnes, de déterminer leur plan de traitement nutritionnel et de surveiller l’état nutritionnel des personnes pour qui un plan de traitement a été déterminé. Elle doit déterminer la stratégie d’intervention, procéder au counselling et assurer le suivi de manière à adapter et à modifier le plan de traitement nutritionnel selon la condition de la personne et la réponse au traitement.
