Phénomène résultant de l'abrasion de la roche par les glaces chargées de sédiments. Les polissages glaciels sont très localisés et ses distinguent facilement des polissages glaciaires et hydrodynamiques par des surfaces lisses mais ternes et de petites dimensions, alors que les polissages glaciaires donnent des surfaces lustrées, brillantes et très étendues, et que les polissages hydrodynamiques donnent des surfaces ternes mais sculptées (DIONNE, 1973a).
