Aparato para mantener por largo tiempo la respiración artificial. Consiste en una caja cerrada herméticamente donde se acomoda al enfermo con su cama de manera que la cabeza de aquél quede fuera. Dentro de la caja se producen modificaciones rítmicas de la presión que provocan dilataciones y encogimientos rítmicos del tórax.
