The amendment would authorize CLSI [Canadian Light Source Incorporated] to commence the third and final stage of the commissioning of its 2.9 GeV electron synchrotron. The synchrotron is a Class 1B Particle Accelerator located at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Le Centre canadien de rayonnement synchrotron incorporé (CLS) a demandé à la Commission canadienne de sûreté nucléaire (la Commission) de modifier son permis d'exploitation d'un accélérateur de particules (PA1OL-02.02/2006 - expirant le 27 mai 2006) pour qu'elle puisse entreprendre la troisième et ultime phase de la mise en service de son synchrotron à électrons de 2,9 GeV. Le synchrotron est un accélérateur de particules de catégorie 1B situé sur le campus de l'Université de la Saskatchewan, à Saskatoon (Saskatchewan).
