On 13 May 1983, the [CRTC] announced that it had received an application from CNCP Telecommunications for ... the introduction of a new service called "Electronic Mail and Office Communications Services" (EMOC). The services included under EMOC are: WP Mail for communications between work processors, Teletex for communications between Teletex terminals, Electronic Office Services, which provide for messages to be sent to and received from computer storage areas called "Mailbox"; and Infotex, which provides for store and forward, multiple addressing and conversion among a number of CNCP services.
