Two submacerals [of ulminite] can be differentiated on the basis of degree of gelification: 1) Texto-ulminite (...) 2) Eu-Ulminite: cell lumens completely closed, structure of the cell walls no longer visible cell structure in tissues only weakly visible, appearance as in telinite of hard coals.

Selon le degré de gélification, on distingue deux types de macéraux : les texto-ulminites et les eu-ulminites. Chez ces derniers, les cellules sont complètement closes, la structure des parois est invisible et l'organisation cellulaire des tissus est à peine reconnaissable, bien que son aspect rappelle celui de la télinite des houilles.
