Proposition par analogie avec «limnétique», ancien terme remplacé par celui de pélagique selon le «Petit Glossaire limnologique», par M. Huet, du Centre belge d'étude et de documentation des eaux (source HUELI, 1949, pp. 188 et 219). L'adjectif «limnique» est introuvable dans la documentation dont nous disposons. Le Petit Glossaire limnologique de M. Huet [nous apprend aussi que les préfixes] limni- et limno- [marquent] une relation avec l'eau douce. Le préfixe «eu» caractérise une propriété au sens strict.
