Sens technique. A distinguer, en tant qu'ayant une compréhension plus large, de l'anglais "signature", qui ne désigne généralement qu'un des éléments de l'"execution". Le verbe correspondant "execute" a une compréhension plus large que les verbes "to sign" et "to subscribe" (a deed, a will) dont il englobe la notion, et plus restreinte que "to make", etc. Il peut se rendre en français par «passer».

With reference to a contract the word "execution" can be ambiguous. Where an arbitration award referred to "the execution of the contract" it was held to mean execution in the sense of the performance of the contract rather than execution in the sense of the making of the contract.
