Le Comité mixte de gestion de la pêche (CMGP), organisme de cogestion regroupant les Inuvialuits et le gouvernement du Canada, a encouragé la collaboration entre les chasseurs, les collectivités et les chercheurs. L’idée était de maintenir un écosystème sain afin de permettre une récolte durable.
