Electoral authorities from 24 Latin American, Caribbean and North American countries met in Ottawa on July 27-28 to promote shared democratic electoral values and welcome two new members. Under the theme: International Consultation: the search for constructive and innovative options, representatives of electoral authorities met to exchange strategies and experiences on issues such as the financing of political parties and candidates, the control and monitoring of expenditures/accountability, and electoral conflict prevention and resolution.
