Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, Information Management Resource Centre. The Framework for the Management of Information (FMI) is a key initiative aimed at modernizing and mapping the strategic direction and landscape for the management of information in the Government of Canada. The FMI will assist government departments and agencies by providing authoritative, comprehensive and integrated guidance on how to best manage information to support service delivery, enhance Citizen access, improve results, fulfill government information legal and policy obligations, and strengthen accountability. Government departments and agencies will be able to use FMI standards and guidelines as is or to adapt them to meet their specific needs as appropriate.

Le Cadre de la gestion de l'information (CGI) est une initiative clé visant à moderniser et à dresser l'orientation et le portrait stratégiques de la gestion de l'information (GI) au Gouvernement du Canada. Le CGI aidera les ministères et les organismes en leur fournissant des conseils complets, intégrés et faisant autorité sur la meilleure façon de gérer l'information en vue d'appuyer la prestation des services, de fournir un meilleur accès aux citoyens, d'améliorer les résultats, de leur permettre de satisfaire aux obligations en matière d'information gouvernementale découlant des lois et des politiques et de renforcer la reddition de comptes. Les ministères et organismes pourront utiliser les normes et les lignes directrices du CGI telles quelles ou les adapter pour répondre à leurs besoins particuliers, s'il y a lieu.
