Poulie d'une machine d'extraction de grand diamètre, sur laquelle le câble fait un simple demi-tour

La poulie Koepe, qui porte le nom de son inventeur, peut être installée au sol ou au sommet de la tour d'extraction. Elle utilise uniquement l'adhérence du câble d'extraction, auquel sont suspendues, à une extrémité, la cage chargée et, à l'autre, la cage vide. Pour diminuer la différence de tension sur les deux brins, un câble d'équilibre est fixé sous les cages. Pour augmenter l'adhérence, la gorge de la poulie est munie de brochets, en bois ou en matière à grande adhérence, dans lesquels est creusée une rainure semi-circulaire de même diamètre que celui du câble.
