During International Year of Volunteers 2001, Canada joined the nations around the world to celebrate GYSD. Leading into National Volunteer Week, GYSD (April 21, 2001) offers an opportunity for young people to highlight youth volunteerism by engaging in a community project or individual act of volunteering.
