Existen dos categorías : bienes muebles por su naturaleza y bienes muebles por disposición de la Ley. Los primeros son los comprendidos dentro del concepto del desplazamiento, y los segundos son las obligaciones y los derechos o acciones que por objeto muebles o cantidades exigibles en virtud de acción personal, acciones de los socios en las asociaciones o sociedades, aun cuando éstos pertenezcan a algunos bienes inmuebles; los derechos personales y los derechos de autor.

In many contexts the double phrase "goods and chattels" is used. It is specifically defined, in different terms, in various statutes. ("Oxford Companion to Law," 1980, p. 531)
