OBS

Les ascospores du rougeot germent facilement sur les feuilles mouillées. Après avoir perforé l'épiderme, le champignon se développe dans les tissus foliaires en tuant les cellules pour pénétrer enfin dans les vaisseaux, gros et petits, à l'intérieur desquels il forme des filaments ondulés qui entravent la circulation de la sève. Le rougeot est donc principalement un parasite des vaisseaux.

OBS

Le terme «rougeot parasitaire de la vigne» désigne aussi la maladie («grapevine red fire disease» en anglais).
