In Chinese calligraphy, it is a style that falls somewhere between the regular script and cursive script. It is not as square as the official script, nor as rounded as the seal script. It is perhaps best described as a variation of the regular script style. It was created by Liu Teh-sheng of the Eastern Han (25-220 A.D.) dynasty.

En calligraphie chinoise, style qui se situe entre l'écriture régulière et l'écriture cursive. Elle n'est pas aussi carrée que l'écriture des scribes, mais elle n'est pas non plus aussi ronde que l'écriture des sceaux. Les traits sont liés et certaines simplifications sont admises. En somme le calligraphe relie les différents éléments du caractère en recourant à une sorte d'exécution continue au cours de laquelle le pinceau ne quitte pas la feuille. Cette écriture a été créée par Liv Teh-sheng sous la dynastie des Han orientaux (25-220 av. J.-C.).
