Assumption that the hydrostatic equation applies, i.e. that vertical accelerations are negligible. 2, record 1, English, - hydrostatic%20approximation
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
hydrostatic approximation. This approximation assumes that the vertical pressure gradient is almost balanced by the forcing due to buoyancy excess. Then the vertical acceleration remains as a much smaller term and can be omitted. 3, record 1, English, - hydrostatic%20approximation

2, record 1, French, - hypoth%C3%A8se%20hydrostatique
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
3, record 1, French, - hypoth%C3%A8se%20hydrostatique
