The Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (IMM), founded in 1892, is a professional/learned body for engineers in the minerals industry and has its headquarters in London, United Kingdom. The IMM is a member of the Council of Mining and Metallurgical Institutions and of Eurominerals, and is a nominated body of the Engineering Council. The IMM supports the professions involved with most sectors of the industry and technical disciplines include exploration, engineering, petroleum engineering, mineral processing and extractive metallurgy as weell as health and safety, management and environmental aspects of the industry.
