The International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP) is an interdisciplinary scientific activity established and sponsored by the International Council for Science (ICSU). The Programme was instituted by ICSU in 1986, and the IGBP Secretariat was established at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1987. ... The programme is focused on acquiring basic scientific knowledge about the interactive processes of biology and chemistry of the Earth as they relate to Global Change. Le Programme International Géosphère Biosphère (IGBP) est une activité scientifique interdisciplinaire fondée et patronnée par le Conseil International des Unions Scientifiques (ICSU). Le Programme fut créé par l'ICSU en 1986, et le Secrétariat fut établi à l'Académie royale des Sciences de la Suède en 1987.
