Subject field(s)
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Water Treatment (Water Supply)
  • Mineral Processing (Metallurgy)
  • Compartment - Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission
CONT

The majority of the ion exchange resins manufactured in the world today are based on the polymer chemistry of styrene, crosslinked with divinylbenzene.

CONT

Ion exchange resins may be used to selectively isolate and concentrate the desired metal where it is a minor component in a large stream or complicated mixture. Listed below are several examples of this chemical processing capability ...Uranium Recovery...Precious Metal Recovery...Copper Recovery Using ChelatingResins...Cobalt/Nickel Recovery and Separation.

CONT

An ion exchange water softener can reduce or eliminate hardness problems. A typical water softener has a pressure tank partially filled with ion exchange resin.

OBS

It produces the exchange of sodium for calcium ions in the softening of hard water.

PHR

Inorganic ion-exchange resin, organic ion-exchange resin.

  • Tiroir - Commission canadienne de sûreté nucléaire
DEF
