This agreement was signed between the National Association of Japanese Canadians (NAJC) and the Government of Canada on September 22, 1988. It included a formal acknowledgement and symbolic individual redress payments for the extensive and systemic human rights violations suffered by the Japanese Canadian community during the Second World War.
