Canada Council for the Arts. Created in 1992 and funded by the revenue of an endowment from the Government of Canada, this annual award honours the memory of former Prime Minister John G. Diefenbaker by enabling a German scholar to spend up to twelve months in Canada to pursue research in any of the disciplines in the social sciences and humanities.
