Knowledge Granularity. A standardized system of classification for knowledge components (KC) is necessary to allow knowledge reuse within and between organizations. Such a classification system should decompose knowledge at an appropriate level of granularity so that knowledge can eventually be recombined.

L'interface : forme de la communication. Le module interface traduit la représentation interne du système dans un langage compréhensible pour l'élève. [...] L'interface joue un grand rôle dans le succès de la communication du savoir, et ne doit pas être négligée, et ce pour 2 raisons principales : 1) l'interface permet de rendre la présentation plus ou moins compréhensible, et la créativité de cette interface peut être un élément crucial dans l'adaptation de l'élève au système, 2) les progrès technologiques des médias permettent de plus en plus l'utilisation d'outils sophistiqués dont le pouvoir de communication peut conduire le design du système tout entier. La compréhension d'un texte est déjà une tâche complexe, or les systèmes actuels ne sont pas encore en mesure de manipuler le langage naturel -> dans cette limite, la flexibilité varie en fonction de la granularité du savoir auquel chaque partie se rapporte.
