Canada and the United States developed A Binational Program to Restore and Protect the Lake Superior Basin. This program has focused on the entire ecosystem of Lake Superior, its air, land, water and human and wildlife. Government and tribal agencies and interested groups from Michigan, Minnesota, Ontario and Wisconsin, along with both federal governments, have taken steps that will restore degraded areas and protect this unique headwater lake through activities such as pollution prevention, enhanced regulatory measures and cleanup programs.

Le Canada et les États-Unis ont mis sur pied un programme binational en vue du rétablissement et de la protection du bassin du lac Supérieur. Ce programme vise l'écosystème complet du lac Supérieur, soit l'air, les sols, l'eau, les humains et la faune du lac. Le gouvernement, divers organismes représentant les tribus et des groupes d'intérêts du Michigan, du Minnesota, de l'Ontario et du Wisconsin, ainsi que les deux gouvernements fédéraux ont pris des mesures en vue de restaurer les secteurs dégradés et de protéger ce splendide lac d'amont par le biais d'initiatives axées sur la prévention de la pollution, le renforcement des mesures réglementaires et la mise sur pied de programmes d'assainissement.
