La Dernière sonnerie est une sonnerie de clairon utilisée traditionnellement pour avertir les troupes de n'importe quel camp militaire que le dernier poste de garde a été inspecté et que tous les soldats peuvent aller dormir. Étant donné qu'il indique la fin du jour, la sonnerie a également fini par devenir un symbole de ceux qui ont perdu la vie en service, et il nous invite au souvenir durant les deux minutes de silence (qui symbolisent la nuit).
