Extrusive ash- to dark-gray basaltic rock composed of leucite, pyroxene, and olivine; rock in which the feldspathoid leucite takes the place of feldspar.

OBS

In older literature "leucite basalt" and "nepheline basalt" are used for rocks now termed olivine leucitite and olivine nephelinite respectively.

Les "phonolithes" sont les équivalents des syénites non saturées à feldspathoïdes et l'on distingue les "phonolithes éléolithiques" [...] et les "phonolithes leucitiques". Lorsque le feldspathoïde l'emporte de beaucoup sur le feldspath, les premières deviennent des "néphélinites", les secondes des "leucitites". Si le feldspathoïde est accompagné d'olivine, on a le basalte néphélinique et le basalte leucitique.
