The Literacy Corps Program was ... transferred to the National Literacy Secretariat, from the Employment Group of Human Resources Development Canada, in 1994. This program works to address the needs of young people aged 16 to 24 who are not in school, through project funding to organizations. The program emphasizes the training of peer tutors in effective strategies to teach young people.
