OBS

For over 300 hundred years, Lloyd's has led insurance and amassed unrivalled expertise along the way. It has established itself as a leading provider of insurance for many risks and a major player in global insurance. Lloyd's is not an insurance company but a competitive market where individual underwriters accept risks on behalf of some 155 syndicates of individual and corporate members whose resources provide the security behind Lloyd's policies. Lloyd's is a broker market. Business comes into the market through Lloyd's brokers who bring business from clients and other brokers and intermediaries from all over the world.

OBS

"Implementation of the new identity (Lloyd's) began with the introduction of the guidelines in April 1997. At the same time Lloyd's central stationary changed from 'Lloyd's of London' to 'Lloyd's' i.e. letterheads, fax headers and compliment slips. During the course of 1997 a gradual change over was effected with the cut off point for being December 1997. Therefore the change over date to the new corporate identity was 31 December 1997".
