CONT

Every year in Canada, workers are injured or killed because equipment, machinery or processes were not properly locked out. Lockout is used during operations such as maintenance, repair, cleaning and replacement of machinery, during which normal control measures may not be working, and new hazards may occur. The purpose of lockout is to identify and prevent the accidental release of "hazardous energy" that can result in workplace injuries and deaths.

The latching handles shall have provision for padlocking in the closed position and shall be constructed of cast aluminum or steel.

The earthing switch is equipped with a button for locking out in the two positions by padlocking. Locking out may also be done by means of 1 or 2 key-locks (options), for which the location is provided.

Le cadenassage est utilisé au cours des opérations telles que l'entretien, la réparation, le nettoyage et le remplacement de la machinerie, lorsque les mesures de contrôle habituelles ne sont pas appropriées et que de nouveaux risques peuvent être présents.
