Some chronic hazards are: the relatively large volume of low and medium level radioactive plant wastes such as process equipment, personal protective equipment, and clean-up materials, and low level radioactivity (mostly tritium) emitted from the plant on a more or less continuous basis as a normal consequence of operation.
