Painting equipment [for aerodrome markings] should include as a minimum a mechanical marker, surface-cleaning apparatus, and auxiliary hand-painting equipment. The mechanical marker should be an atomizing spray-type suitable for the type of paint to be used. It should produce a uniform film thickness of the specified coverage and provide clear-cut edges without running, spattering, or over-spray. It should properly apply the glass beads if the markings are to be made retro-reflective.

Le matériel de peinture [pour les marques d'aérodrome] devrait comprendre au moins un marqueur mécanique, un appareil pour le nettoyage de la surface, et du matériel auxiliaire de peinture à la main. Le marqueur mécanique devrait être un pulvérisateur convenant pour le type de peinture à utiliser. Il devrait produire un feuil d'épaisseur uniforme possédant le pouvoir couvrant spécifié et faire des bords bien nets, sans coulures, éclaboussures ou excès de pulvérisation. Il devrait convenablement appliquer les grains de verre si l'on veut que les marques soient rétroréfléchissantes.
