The flow of air is maintained by exhausting the conditioned air through the manifold with a vacuum pump. This flow is controlled by a micrometer valve and monitored with ball-type flow meters at both the intake and exhaust sides of the evaporation manifold.

L'opération de surveillance mise en place consiste à calibrer une fuite étalon de sorte qu'elle ait tantôt une valeur hors spécifications et tantôt une valeur dans les spécifications dans le but de s'assurer que le poste accepte bien les produits conformes et/ou isole bien les produits hors limites. Pour se faire, un calibrateur de fuite équipé d'un robinet micrométrique permet de simuler ces différentes situations en provoquant des fuites acceptables et non acceptables.
