OBS

The Milton Chamber of Commerce was initiated as the Milton Board of Trade well over 100 years ago on October 2, 1888. Early meetings of the Board of Trade were held in Chisholm's Hall (about 144 Main St.) on the first Friday evening of each month "when the interests of the town were fully discussed and well looked after". The Board of Trade changed its name to the Milton Chamber of Commerce in 1952 and in 1965 received its provincial charter. Trade fairs, the Santa Claus parade, paint-up, clean-up, beautify campaigns and others were some activities of the Chamber of Commerce and its committees.
