The mission of the Musée is to make known, promote and preserve Québec art of all periods, to ensure a place for international contemporary art through acquisitions and exhibitions and other cultural activities. Known as the Musée du Québec in 1963, it became the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec in 2002.
