L'administration de l'insuline nasale n'a ni retardé ni prévenu l'apparition du diabète de type 1 chez les enfants souffrant d'une prédisposition génétique à la maladie, bien que ce médicament ait été administré dès que les anticorps de la maladie ont été découverts.
