Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. The National Biomass Ethanol Program (NBEP) will provide up to $70 million to cover any future losses on loans to a limited number of fuel ethanol manufacturers for the purposes of building or expanding a biomass fuel ethanol plant in Canada. Beginning in 1999, up to $65 million in loans may be advanced by the Farm Credit Corporation (FCC) to eligible recipients in the form of contingent, repayable line of credit arrangements.

Le Programme national sur l'éthanol de la biomasse (PNEB) permet aux producteurs d'éthanol d'obtenir une marge de crédit garantie par le gouvernement pour rééchelonner les dettes à long terme en cas de difficulté financière. Il appuie les entreprises qui investissent dans l'industrie canadienne de l'éthanol, d'une part, et facilite l'accès des producteurs au financement privé, d'autre part.
